#GreenMyCity intake and form update
The #GreenMyCity grant details now show year-round intake, with applications reviewed at scheduled Project Selection Committee meetings throughout the year. Who is eligible?
- Community gardens, businesses, service clubs, foundations, associations, and youth groups.
Eligible expenses
- Softscape elements only, including plants, soil, trees, gardens, turf, and other landscape materials.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- The purchase of land.
- Fencing and urban furniture.
- Fabricated play structures.
- Annual maintenance costs.
- Contributions to a general fundraising campaign, advocacy or research, asphalt projects, hard infrastructure, and labour.
Selection criteria
- Each project is evaluated on its own merit.
- Projects are assessed on their ability to fulfill the foundation’s mission.
- Applications are reviewed in the order received, subject to available funds.
How to apply
- Apply online at https://www.gcfoundation.ca/apply/ before the start date of your project or activity.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed by the Green Cities Foundation Project Selection Committee at scheduled meetings throughout the year.
- To be considered at a specific meeting, applications must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the review date.
- A decision is provided within 30 days on whether the proposal is approved or declined.
- If further information is required, the foundation will contact the applicant.
