Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • A federally or provincially registered non-profit society or charitable organization operating in St. Albert
  • A school located in St. Albert
  • A community group of two or more St. Albert citizens who have come together for the purpose of undertaking an eligible project, either independently or with a business or government partner in the community

Who is not eligible

  • For-profit projects
  • Completed projects
  • Projects already started before applying
  • Applicants who have not met prior grant reporting or repayment requirements

Eligible expenses

  • Rental or purchase of equipment and supplies required to complete the project
  • Wages for professional services
  • Printing of brochures and educational material, and advertising via radio, newspaper, signage, or banners
  • Facility rental fees for special events
  • Travel, accommodation, and meal costs for instructors and speakers, and native trees and shrubs for planting projects

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Landscaping or outdoor furniture funding requests for beautifying property, including picnic tables or fencing materials to close off an area
  • Non-native plants, shrubs, and trees

    • Obtain permission if the project will take place on public land.
  • Step 3: Submit the online application
    • Complete the application form through the City of St. Albert’s online portal.
    • Submit the application before the annual deadline.
  • Step 4: Provide follow-up information
    • Watch for an email with directions for sending additional information.
    • Send the requested supporting information to complete the application.
