Eligibility

  • The applicant must be an organization based in Canada.
  • The initiative must be local, regional, or national in scope within Canada.
  • The activity must support healthcare, medical education, or a social impact initiative benefiting patients, people, communities, or the environment.
  • The request must align with the therapeutic areas in which the funder operates (e.g., diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, liver health, neurologic health, rare diseases).

  • Canada-based organizations delivering healthcare, medical education, or social impact initiatives
  • Hospitals, clinics, and academic institutions (for rounds and journal clubs)
  • Professional associations and professional organizations delivering educational initiatives
  • Academic or training institutions administering fellowships with an independent selection process
  • Patient and community organizations delivering education, events, camps, scholarships, or community initiatives

Eligible expenses

  • Costs related to independent medical education or continuing medical education programs for healthcare professionals
  • Costs related to medical education meetings, conferences, and scientific seminars or events
  • Costs related to rounds and journal clubs hosted by hospitals, clinics, or academic institutions
  • Costs related to patient or community education tools, resources, conferences, events, or camps
  • Donations of medicinal products, durable devices, and needles for charitable or non-commercial purposes

Selection criteria

Processing and Agreement

  • Medical Grants applications are processed and adjudicated within 4–6 weeks after the relevant submission deadline.
  • Social Impact applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
  • Social Impact applications submitted after October 31 may be processed in the new year.

Additional information

  • The funder supports initiatives aligned with its Triple Bottom Line business principle and long-term interests.
  • Priority therapeutic areas include diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, liver health, neurologic health (Alzheimer’s disease), and rare diseases.
  • Sponsorship requests are handled separately through a local company contact.
