- Dismantling, decommissioning and disposal of the existing device.
- Acquisition and installation of the new compliant device.

Documents Needed
- A copy of the municipal permit or authorization certificate, the documents submitted in support of it, the plans and specifications for the work and, where applicable, the notice of non-compliance transmitted in accordance with the regulations referred to in Chapter I.
- Two quotes establishing the estimated total cost of the work, prepared by two different contractors authorized to carry it out, dated at most 90 days before the date of the application.
- When it concerns the replacement of a device whose age will not exceed 30 years before the 31 March 2029 and whose replacement is recommended by a professional authorized for that purpose, a certificate from that professional.
- An itemized invoice for the work carried out, a certificate that it was carried out in accordance with the approved plans and specifications, a copy of the engineer’s invoice and any other document deemed necessary for a proper understanding of the application and analysis of its compliance.
- For the additional grant provided for in section 6.1, a report from a professional authorized for that purpose and a cost study prepared by a professional.
Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- The owner of an eligible property.
- The duly authorized representative of the owner.
- The condominium syndicate or owners' association when the condominium property is managed by a syndicate or association.
- The person who will act as the representative when the condominium property is managed by several owners not organized as an association.
Eligible expenses
- The cost of labor.
- The cost of acquiring a device compliant with the regulations referred to in Chapter I.
- The cost of other materials supplied by the contractor, excluding those supplied by the owner.
- The cost of issuing the municipal permit or authorization certificate, as well as professional fees for preparing the plans and specifications, including, where required, surveying or biologist fees, work supervision and compliance certification.
- The amount of GST and QST paid by the owner, less, if applicable, any amount recovered by the owner.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- The replacement of a compliant device in order to increase its hydraulic capacity.
- Correction or replacement work on a private building, equipment or infrastructure affected by the replacement of the existing device with the new device.
- Excavation or landscaping work.
- Any material acquired by the owner as well as the work carried out by the owner.

- Watershed of the Saint-Charles River intake.
- Vulnerability areas illustrated on the plans in Annex I.
- Territory of the City of Quebec.
- Territory of the City of Lac-Delage.
- Territory of the municipality of the United Townships of Stoneham-et-Tewkesbury.
Selection criteria
- Grants are awarded to the owners of eligible buildings in order of the date on which compliant applications are received, subject to the availability of funds.
How to apply
- Fill out and sign the online application, then submit it electronically to the Building Grants Section, together with the required documents.
- On request to the Building Grants Section, also complete an application on the paper form provided by the City and submit it to the offices of that section.
- Once the work has been carried out, file the required documents to complete the grant application.
- For the additional grant provided for in article 6.1, submit a report from a qualified professional and a cost study prepared by a professional.
Processing and Agreement
- Within a period of 60 days following receipt of a complete and compliant grant application, the City sends the applicant a cheque, made out to the owner of the building, for the amount of the grant calculated in accordance with Chapter II, Section IV.
- If the eligible work has already been the subject of financial assistance in the form of funding under a municipal program on the date this by-law comes into force, the City instead pays the amount to the municipality that financed the work; any excess is forwarded to the applicant.
- When an application is incomplete or non-compliant, the City sends written notice specifying the missing or non-compliant items and stating that no grant may be paid until the application is complete and compliant.
- When an application is not eligible, the City informs the applicant in writing within a period of 30 days from the time the cause of ineligibility was identified and explains the reason.
- An applicant who provides false, inaccurate or incomplete information forfeits the benefit of any grant reservation and, if the grant has already been paid, must repay the full amount received within ten days following the written request of the designated officer.
