Who is eligible?
- All owners/operators of farms established in New Brunswick.
Eligible expenses
- Purchase, modification and improvement of irrigation equipment, weather stations, and related sensors
- Controlled tile drainage systems, surface and subsurface drainage, and drainage-water recycling equipment
- Manure management and storage systems, including methane capture, anaerobic digestion, separation systems, and containment systems
- Energy efficiency upgrades and renewable energy equipment, including building envelope, lighting, ventilation, machinery modifications, and energy source switching or storage
- Water supply infrastructure and treatment technologies, including ponds, wells, reservoirs, backflow protection, aeration systems, UV light treatment, chlorination, and reverse osmosis
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Normal operating costs associated with carrying out a business
- Basic research, meaning experimental or theoretical work undertaken primarily to acquire new knowledge without a commercial or other specific application in view
- Projects or activities that directly influence and/or lobby any level of government
- Drainage of wetlands or other environmentally sensitive areas
Selection criteria
- Projects assessed to demonstrate benefits and impacts to more than one province may be eligible for funding on a regional basis.
