Who is eligible?

Who is not eligible

  • Applicants who are not full-time students or postdoctoral fellows.
  • Applicants who already completed a degree at the host institution.
  • Applicants who hold citizenship in the country where the research would take place.
  • Applicants who are already holding more than two Globalink Research Awards or similar Mitacs summer awards.
  • Applicants who are already participating in another MITACS internship at the same time.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed through a rigorous assessment process.
  • Applicants receive an outcome letter after review.
  • If approved, an award letter is issued before travel can begin.
  • Funds are released to the Canadian institution after the award letter.
  • Project exit surveys must be submitted after completion.

  • Applications may be submitted in English or French.
  • Applicants should apply at least 16 weeks before the planned start date.
