- Applicants who are not full-time students or postdoctoral fellows.
- Applicants who already completed a degree at the host institution.
- Applicants who hold citizenship in the country where the research would take place.
- Applicants who are already holding more than two Globalink Research Awards or similar Mitacs summer awards.
- Applicants who are already participating in another MITACS internship at the same time.

Processing and Agreement

- Applicants receive an outcome letter after review.
- If approved, an award letter is issued before travel can begin.
- Funds are released to the Canadian institution after the award letter.
- Project exit surveys must be submitted after completion.
