Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Former 2024 Globalink Research Interns who successfully completed their internship.
  • Applicants admitted to full master’s, PhD, or postdoctoral fellowship programs at participating Canadian academic institutions.

Who is not eligible

  • Applicants in graduate certificates, diplomas, or other similar programs.

Selection criteria

  • Applications are reviewed by Mitacs in the order they are received.
  • Funding is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Applications from member institutions are prioritized.
  • Approvals depend on provincial funding and available funds at the time of review.
  • Fellowships are awarded at Mitacs’s discretion.

How to apply

  • Review the list of Mitacs academic partners whose students are eligible for the Globalink Graduate Fellowship.
  • Apply to and obtain formal acceptance for an eligible graduate program at a participating Canadian academic institution.
  • Complete the Globalink Graduate Fellowship application.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed by Mitacs in the order received.
  • Funding is subject to availability at the time of review.
  • Mitacs notifies applicants individually of the outcome.
  • Proof of enrollment is required before funds are released.
  • Applications are assessed after eligibility is confirmed.

Additional information

  • The fellowship is awarded once per student, per academic lifetime.
  • Globalink alumni may apply at a different university than their internship host institution.
  • The GGF initiative will cease to be offered by 2025 and will not be available to GRI 2025 interns.
