How to apply

  • Step 1: Prepare concept note
    • Review the call document, FAQ, and information session Q&A.
    • Develop a concept note focused on one or two priority themes.
    • Prepare the project budget and supporting information.
  • Step 2: Create applicant account
    • Open a SurveyMonkey Apply account if you do not already have one.
    • Use the account setup guide if you need help accessing the portal.
  • Step 3: Complete online submission
    • Access the application portal.
    • Fill in the online eligibility form and application fields.
    • Upload the required submission materials and submit through SurveyMonkey Apply.
  • Step 4: Await decision
    • Monitor the application system and email for eligibility and screening updates.
    • Follow any further instructions if your application advances.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are first screened for eligibility in the online system.
  • Incomplete or ineligible applications are notified through the system or by email.
  • Eligible applications are reviewed before funding decisions are made.
  • Selected applicants must sign a grant agreement before funding is issued.

  • There is no minimum number of applicants per application.
  • The lead applicant must be based in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Up to two co-applicants can sign grant agreements with IDRC.
