Overview
Funding supports U.S. and Canadian communities where Weyerhaeuser operates, with a minimum award of $1,000. It funds local initiatives across seven focus areas including housing, education, environment, and workforce development.

Documents Needed
Eligibility
- The applicant must serve a community where Weyerhaeuser has a significant presence or business interest.
- The request must align with at least one of the fund’s focus areas (e.g., affordable housing, education and youth development, environmental stewardship, human services, civic and cultural growth, workforce development, inclusion).
- For national projects or research programs, the request must be directly related to the sustainability and importance of working forests.
Who is eligible?
- Organizations serving communities where Weyerhaeuser has operations and/or owns or manages forestland (United States and Canada)
- Organizations seeking support for local community initiatives aligned with the fund’s focus areas
- Organizations seeking national projects or research programs directly related to the sustainability and importance of working forests (subject to invitation-only limits for industry-related national/research funding)
Who is not eligible
- Applicants seeking industry-related national and/or research funding without an invitation

- Industry-related national and/or research funding requests that are not invitation-only.
Eligible geographic areas
- Communities in the United States where Weyerhaeuser has operations and/or owns or manages forestland
- Communities in Canada where Weyerhaeuser has operations and/or owns or manages forestland
Selection criteria
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis throughout the year.
- Some committees may wait until after the September deadline to finalize recommendations, which may delay responses until winter.
Additional information
- Funding priorities are organized around seven focus areas: Affordable Housing, Education and Youth Development, Environmental Stewardship, Human Services, Civic and Cultural Growth, Workforce Development, and Inclusion.
- Giving is local and tailored to individual communities.
- Applicants are encouraged to build a local connection with employee advisory committee members in their area.
- Industry-related national and/or research funding is by invitation only.
