Overview
Provides up to $500,000 USD in early-stage design funding. Supports feasibility studies or proof-of-concept for innovative blended finance vehicles integrating gender equality into climate mitigation and/or adaptation in emerging markets.
Activities funded
- Design and launch preparation of innovative blended finance vehicles focused on climate change and gender equality.
- Feasibility studies for climate-gender blended finance vehicles.
- Proof-of-concept activities for climate-gender blended finance vehicles.
- Vehicle design work that mobilizes private sector capital for climate mitigation and/or adaptation in emerging markets.

Eligibility
- The applicant must propose a blended finance vehicle focused on the intersection of climate change and gender equality in emerging markets.
- The vehicle must aim to mobilize private sector capital at scale for gender-responsive climate mitigation and/or adaptation.
- Gender equality must be integrated into the vehicle’s design, implementation, and operations.
- The proposed approach must align at minimum with SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
- The application must be for feasibility study funding or proof-of-concept funding.

Selection criteria
How to apply
- Step 1: Complete questionnaire
- Fill out the design funding questionnaire on the program website before drafting an application.
- Step 2: Alignment call
- After submitting the questionnaire, schedule a brief call with the Convergence team to confirm alignment with objectives and mission.
- If available, share a concept note or presentation ahead of the call.
- Step 3: Submit draft for feedback
- Send a draft proposal at least 2 weeks before the submission deadline.
- Use the standard feasibility study or proof-of-concept template provided for the Window.
- Incorporate feedback provided within 7 business days.
- Step 4: Submit final proposal
- Submit the final proposal using the link provided via email.

- The Window is funded by the Government of Canada.
- The focus is on the climate change and gender equality nexus in emerging markets.
- Supported vehicles are expected to align at minimum with SDG 5, SDG 13, and SDG 17.
- The Window aims to help a pipeline of vehicles reach bankability.
