Overview

Provides up to $30,000 to help charitable organizations launch new, innovative community projects. Supports proof-of-concept, trial, or initial launch activities addressing urgent needs.

Activities funded

  • Applicant must be a charitable organization
  • Project must be a new initiative (not an existing program)
  • Project must address an identified gap or urgent community need
  • Applicant must be able to demonstrate financial sustainability beyond the first year (if the project has long-term goals)

How to apply

Step 1: Prepare online application
  • Develop a proposal for a new project addressing an urgent community need
  • Include how the project will be financially sustainable beyond the first year (if long-term goals apply)
Step 2: Submit through online portal
  • Submit the application via the online grant portal
  • Apply between August 30 and October 2
Step 3: Present if shortlisted
  • Deliver a presentation to the Grantmaking Committee if invited

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications may be shortlisted for further consideration
  • Shortlisted applicants are invited to present to the Grantmaking Committee
  • The successful applicant is announced in November
