Overview
Employers can receive up to $32,000 CAD through a 50% or 80% wage match to hire youth aged 15–30 into Green Jobs. Funding supports new positions in Canada that contribute to nature-based solutions through eligible work experiences.
Activities funded
- Hiring youth aged 15–30 into new Green Job positions
- Delivering nature-based work experiences in areas such as conservation, parks, and natural resource management
- Delivering environmental education work experiences
- Supporting sustainable food systems work experiences
- Supporting nature-based climate work such as carbon sequestration and species recovery
Examples of admissible projects:
Hire a youth to expand composting and urban food growing programs
Hire a youth technician for invasive species removal and monitoring
Documents Needed
Eligibility
- The position must qualify as a Green Job that supports nature-based solutions.
- The job must be a new position that increases youth hiring beyond the organization’s normal levels.
- The work experience must last between 2 and 20 weeks (some exceptions apply).
- The work experience must take place in Canada.

- Organizations working in sustainable food systems or nature-based climate solutions
Who is not eligible
Eligible expenses
- Youth wages (reimbursed through a wage match)
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Jobs that are not new positions (roles that do not increase youth hiring beyond normal levels)
- Work experiences delivered outside Canada
- Work experiences shorter than 2 weeks or longer than 20 weeks (unless an exception applies)
- Positions that do not support nature-based solutions (non-Green Jobs)
