Eligibility

  • The applicant must be the owner or an authorized operator of a commercial transportation business in New Brunswick.
  • The business must operate medium or heavy-duty commercial vehicles (gross vehicle mass of 4,500 kg or more), including truck trailers and semi-trailers, registered in New Brunswick.
  • Eligible upgrades and devices must be purchased from a New Brunswick retailer or distributor and installed by an accredited professional.
  • All equipment must be new and installed on or after April 1, 2025.

  • Commercial transportation businesses operating in New Brunswick
  • Owners or authorized operators of medium or heavy-duty commercial vehicles registered in New Brunswick

Who is not eligible

  • Companies whose vehicles or trailers are registered outside of New Brunswick.
  • Businesses that operate only passenger vehicles or light-duty commercial vehicles (with a gross vehicle mass less than 4,500 kg).

Eligible expenses

  • Purchase of new eligible aerodynamic devices such as side skirts, underbody fairings, rear fairings (boat tails), trailer top/side deflectors/fairings, cab roof deflector/fairings, and reducers.
  • Purchase of new low rolling resistance tires, including dual tires and wide-base single tires, for trucks or trailers.
  • Purchase of new anti-idle technologies, such as auxiliary power units and auxiliary bunk/cab heaters and coolers.
  • Purchase of new electric refrigeration units for commercial vehicles and trailers.
  • Purchase of new fuel-efficient driving devices, such as speed limiters.
  • Installation costs by an accredited professional for eligible devices and products.

Purchase and install equipment

  • Purchase eligible fuel-saving devices and products from a retailer or distributor in New Brunswick

  • Keep detailed receipts and proof of payment for both purchase and installation

Submit rebate application

  • Complete the online rebate application form available through the program
  • Attach required documents: certificate of vehicle registration, purchase and installation receipts, direct deposit enrolment form
  • Submit your application only after all devices and installations are completed

Application review by NB Power

  • NB Power reviews your application and supporting documents
  • If information or documents are missing, you will be contacted within 30 business days
  • Your application will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis

Receive rebate payment

  • If approved, receive the rebate by direct deposit within 60 days
  • If direct deposit is not set up, payment will be sent by cheque to the specified mailing address

  • Program rebates are available on a first-come, first-served basis until allocated funds are depleted.
  • There is an annual cap of $250,000 in rebates per eligible recipient.
  • Rebates are available retroactively for upgrades purchased and installed on or after April 1, 2025, until March 31, 2026.
  • All eligible devices and products must be purchased new from New Brunswick retailers or distributors and installed by an accredited professional.
