2027-2028 intake paused for French early childhood funding
The French Second Language Learning from Early Childhood program page now says there will be no call for proposals for fiscal year 2027-2028, and no funding applications will be received at this time. The application guidelines and program page also update support availability from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET to 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. ET. The application guidelines still reference the required application form and supporting documentation, but the intake notice replaces the prior dated deadline information with a closed-intake message for 2027-2028.

Selection criteria
- Commitment to second-language learning, consistency with the subcomponent objectives, and compliance with the conditions of previously funded projects
- Links with issues related to second-language learning and relevance of the proposed needs and activities
- Clear project or initiative scope, with expected results that will have a real impact on the target clientele
- Relevant proposed performance measurements and the applicant organization’s capacity to successfully carry out the activities
- Support from a variety of quality partners, diverse funding sources, and a budget proportional to the proposed activities
How to apply
- Read these Application Guidelines in their entirety before completing your application.
- Complete and sign the Application form – Official Languages Support Programs (PDF) for the Cooperation with the Non-Governmental Sector subcomponent (Second-Language) and attach all required supporting documents.
- Submit your complete funding application package by email to dglo-olsp@pch.gc.ca.
- When an application deadline is identified, the email must be sent no later than 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) on the date of the application deadline.
Processing and Agreement
- We will acknowledge receipt of your application within two weeks of receiving it in our office.
- For a grant, the conditions agreed to at the time of application apply, and at the end of your project you may be required to submit a report and/or participate in the evaluation of results.
- For a contribution, a funding agreement is signed by your organization and us, and at the end of your project you must submit a final report.
- You may be required to submit interim reports during your project.
- We reserve the right to audit your accounts and records and conduct periodic program evaluations; records must be kept for five years.
Additional information
- No call for proposals will be issued for fiscal year 2027-2028 for programming funding and project funding.
