  • Your contractor develops a detailed design based on FortisBC’s requirements and submits it for final review.

Processing and Agreement

  • Hire a pre-approved electrical design contractor from the names provided by FortisBC.
  • Contact FortisBC at 1-866-436-7847 to submit your proposed project design for review by the Customer Design Group.
  • Once your project has been reviewed and approved by the Customer Design Group, you’ll be contacted and advised of next steps.
  • Your contractor develops a detailed design based on FortisBC’s requirements and submits it for final review.
  • They then purchase and install the FortisBC-approved materials according to approved construction standards.

Additional information

  • One kit is available per household once every five years.
  • Applicants must apply through their electricity provider.
  • Online account registration is required before applying.
