Overview
The Francophone Community Grants Program (FCGP) offers funding covering up to 80% of eligible project costs for non-profit organizations and up to 50% for businesses, supporting activities that strengthen French-language services, bilingual staff recruitment and training, and the promotion of Ontario’s Francophone culture. The program targets projects that bolster organizational capacity, economic development, and community engagement within Ontario’s Francophone communities.
Financing terms and conditions
- For the Community and Culture stream, the grant covers up to 80% of total eligible project expenses.
- For the Economic Development stream, the grant covers up to 50% of total eligible project expenses.
Activities funded
- Projects that strengthen the capacity of organizations or businesses to provide products and services to Francophones in Ontario.
- Initiatives that promote the recruitment or training of bilingual Francophone staff.
- Activities that celebrate and foster understanding of Ontario’s Francophonie.

Eligibility
- The applicant must be an incorporated non-profit organization, municipality, Indigenous community or organization, entrepreneur, or business.
- The applicant must have maintained continuous activities in Ontario for at least two years as of January 1, 2025.
- For the Community and Culture stream, the applicant must be a non-profit Francophone organization or a non-profit organization serving Ontario’s Francophone community.
- For the Economic Development stream, the applicant must operate within a Francophone community in Ontario.

- Non-profit organizations serving Ontario’s Francophone community, including municipalities and Indigenous communities or organizations
- Social enterprises delivering French-language services or serving Francophone markets
- Ontario entrepreneurs and businesses operating within a Francophone community
- Incorporated non-profit organizations involved in economic development
Who is not eligible
- Organizations or businesses receiving funding in the same year from other Ontario Ministry of Francophone Affairs programs.
- Organizations or businesses receiving funding in the same year from programs offered by the Secrétariat du Québec aux relations canadiennes.

- The application period for the 2025–2026 cycle is now closed.
- Projects funded under this program cannot receive financing in the same year from other Ontario Ministry of Francophone Affairs programs or from programs offered by the Secrétariat du Québec aux relations canadiennes.
