Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • First Nations in British Columbia.
  • Indigenous-owned companies and forest tenure holders.
  • Small area-based tenure holders.
  • Provincial government agencies and local governments.
  • Eligible not-for-profit organizations and rural fire departments in BC.

Who is not eligible

  • Companies or tenure holders that manufacture dimensional softwood lumber.

Eligible expenses

  • Planning and treatment prescription development.
  • Treatments and project supervision.
  • Administration costs.
  • Information sharing and meetings with agencies, First Nations, and stakeholders.
  • Incremental costs to recover and utilize residual fibre.

    • Complete the FESIMS application form.
    • Attach the required maps, spatial files, budget, timelines, and supporting information.
    • Obtain written support from the applicable land manager.
  • Step 3: Submit in FESIMS
    • Register as a user or create an account in FESIMS.
    • Submit the application through the online portal.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed and assessed by FESBC after submission.
  • Additional information may be requested during review.
  • Applicants are not notified of application status during the review process.
  • Successful applicants receive written approval with any terms or conditions.
  • Approved projects require a recipient agreement with PwC before implementation.
