Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- Secondary school students and school staff from participating secondary schools
- Cégep/college students and cégep/college staff from participating institutions
- University students and university staff from participating universities
Who is not eligible
- Institutions that have not concluded a participation agreement with Forces AVENIR
- Projects that have already been laureate in an AVENIR Project category for the same program level
- Candidates who have already been laureate in the same AVENIR Personality or Personnel category for the same program level
Selection criteria
- Concrete results and measurable impact on the project’s milieu
- Relevance to the category, context, and the needs or problems addressed
- Innovation, originality, reach, and visibility
- Leadership, responsibility, mobilization, and the balance or constancy of engagement
- Quality of the file, language, and presentation, with fundraising effort and educational value considered in some categories
How to apply
- Submit the candidacy files for both contests on the registration platform starting Wednesday, 7 January 2026.
Processing and Agreement
- Participating schools, cégeps/colleges, and universities validate eligibility and select the candidacies forwarded to the next stage.
- Eligible files are reviewed through local, regional, and national jury stages, depending on the program level and category.
- Selected candidates may be invited to mandatory interviews, including videoconference interviews held in May or June for some categories.
- For Forces AVENIR +, selected projects must complete a financing form and, at the end of the project, a reporting form that can also request a second year of funding.
