How to apply

  • Step 1: Prepare your proposal
    • Develop the project proposal and supporting information.
    • Set up a GCKey and access the Single Window Information Manager (SWIM).
  • Step 2: Access the online system
    • Use the Grants and Contributions Enterprise Management System (GCEMS).
    • Allow up to 3 business days to receive the initial password for online access.
  • Step 3: Submit the application
    • Submit the project proposal through GCEMS.
    • Apply as early as possible through the portal.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are evaluated for eligibility, program fit, feasibility, collaboration, leverage potential, finances, and recipient capacity.
  • ECCC may request additional information or clarification during review.
  • Applicants selected for the next phase are contacted, and approval is not guaranteed.
  • Successful applicants must sign a funding agreement before funds are released or work begins.
  • Recipients must submit regular progress reports, annual reports for multi-year projects, and a final report.

Additional information

  • Multiple applications may be submitted for different projects.
  • No matching funding is required, but additional funds or in-kind contributions are encouraged.
  • Applicants must declare all sources of project funding.
