Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- Growth-oriented food processors in B.C.
- Growth-oriented beverage processors in B.C.
- Growth-oriented seafood processors in B.C., with funding available for Intake 1 only.
Who is not eligible
- Businesses with gross revenue of less than $500,000 or more than $6,000,000 for the past two years, except seafood processors for the maximum.
- Businesses with fewer than 4 employees.
- Facilities solely dedicated to packing, cleaning, bagging, handling and/or storing of primary products.
- Retail food services or operations, restaurants and food service, including catering services.
- Packaging material manufacturers.

Selection criteria
- Eligibility and readiness of the applicant.
- Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Phase 2 projects must align with the Operational Productivity Assessment Report.
How to apply
- Step 1: Submit online application
- Complete the program application form online.
- Step 2: Application review
- The CME team reviews the application and may contact the applicant with questions.
- Applications are assessed against the eligibility criteria.
- Step 3: Acceptance into Phase 1
- Receive confirmation of acceptance into Phase 1.
- Step 4: Begin Phase 1 activities
- Participate in the Lean Maturity Assessment and training program.
Processing and Agreement
- The first applicants will be reviewed by April 17, 2026, and applications are reviewed on an ongoing first-come-first-served basis until Phase 1 spaces are committed.
- The CME team reviews applications and may contact applicants with questions.
- Applications are adjudicated solely against the eligibility criteria and not against other applicants.
- Eligible participants are approved in order of application, and a waitlist of qualified applicants is kept for consideration of program renewal and additional intakes.
- Companies that successfully complete Phase 1 and demonstrate operational readiness are invited to apply for Phase 2 funding.

Gross revenue of at least $500,000 for each of the past two years; the $6,000,000 maximum does not apply to seafood processors.
Four or more employees, at least 50% of direct production costs in B.C., and the ability to provide the minimum cash contribution.
