Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Breast cancer patients
  • Patients in active treatment or within two months of completing treatment
  • Low-income applicants in Canada

Who is not eligible

  • Applicants without a breast cancer diagnosis
  • Applicants not in active treatment and outside the two-month post-treatment window
  • Applicants who do not meet the financial need requirement

Eligible expenses

  • Food, shelter, and utility costs
  • Medication, medical supplies, and treatment-related expenses
  • Wigs, turbans, prosthetics, and lymphedema garments
  • Parking, child care, and rehabilitation or supportive care

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Tamoxifen and aromatase inhibitors
  • Long-term treatments such as Herceptin or bisphosphonates, except for metastatic breast cancer
  • Credit card payments, property taxes, condo fees, and restaurant receipts
  • Accommodation costs and medications not related to treatment
