Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Costs for work started before approval and contribution agreement execution.

- Water meters, capital projects, and ISO 50001 re-certification fees.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed and assessed against merit-based criteria.
- Applicants receive an acknowledgment of receipt within five business days.
- Decision letters are sent after all proposals are assessed.
- Successful applicants receive a Letter of Conditional Approval and a draft contribution agreement.
- Work may begin only after confirmation from the program officer, and reimbursement is made through submitted reports and financial claims.

- The project must be completed by March 31, 2029.
- Selected buildings must be registered in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager.
- Funding may be combined with other sources of funding.
- NRCan may adjust its contribution if other funding is received.
