Who is eligible?

  • Educators currently working for an accredited educational institution in Vancouver
  • Teacher candidates
  • Homeschool educators

Eligible expenses

  • Honorariums for speakers, walking tour guides, and museum or site visit admission.

Selection criteria

  • VSB public schools.
  • Vancouver-based homeschoolers.
  • Educators committed and intentional in their continued learning and engagement with local history, diverse heritage, and place-based knowledge.

How to apply

  • Submit the Field Trip Grants Application Form by October 31st at 11:59pm.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed after the October 1st to October 31st application window closes.
  • Successful applicants are notified by email by December 1.
  • Before the final field trip grant is approved, the applicant must accept the grant by speaking to the Director of Education by phone.
  • Grant recipients must book and pay for the field trip experience in advance, and inform VHF of any changes to the approved field trip.
  • Grant recipients must submit the Field Trip Grant Completion Form by the end of June 2027 with photos or documents from the field trip activity and proof of payment; VHF may request to join a field trip or observe a session.
