  • A small and medium sized business with 499 or fewer full-time equivalent employees.
  • Businesses that conduct research and development activities in Canada.
  • Businesses that meet the Canada-based wage, work location, and senior executive residence requirements.

Selection criteria

  • Post-evaluation proposal selection will include the following priority: firms with a demonstrated track record of building field deployable standoff optical imaging / detection platforms for clients.

Processing and Agreement

  • At the end of the project, the successful applicant will be expected to travel to NRC's Metrology Research Centre to demonstrate the operation of the solution and provide training to enable NRC researchers to independently test and validate its performance.
  • NRC will play an active role in prototype evaluation and in validating system performance under relevant testing conditions.
  • All communication will take place by telephone or videoconference for the kick-off meeting, progress review meeting(s), and final review meeting.
