Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- Nonprofit institutions.
- Research teams working on Angelman syndrome.
- Qualified individuals with PhD- or MD-level training.

Eligible expenses
- Reagents and materials, including cell lines and animal model lines.
- Specialized services such as sequencing, proteomics, metabolomics, and manufacturing.
- Specialized equipment or software needed for the project.
- Personnel costs, including salaries and fringe benefits.
- Travel support for the annual FAST scientific symposium.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Indirect costs on tuition, equipment, software, or software licenses.
- Travel costs beyond the included symposium stipend, unless not used and returned.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed through scientific peer review by FAST’s Scientific Advisory Board.
- Applications are scored for scientific merit, innovation, translational impact, alignment with FAST’s mission, design, rationale, budget, and feasibility.
- SAB feedback may require applicant responses before final review.
- Funding recommendations move to the Scientific Director Panel and then to FAST’s Board of Directors for final approval.
- FAST aims to provide a funding response within six weeks of submission.

- Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
- Final funding requires approval by FAST’s Board of Directors.
- Projects with human or animal subjects require IRB or IACUC approval before funds are released.
