- Indirect costs on tuition, equipment, software, or software licenses.
- Travel costs beyond the included symposium stipend, unless not used and returned.

Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed through scientific peer review by the Scientific Advisory Board, and consultants may be recruited if needed.
- Applications are scored using NIH standard guidelines and reviewed for scientific merit, innovation, translational impact, alignment with FAST's mission, experimental design, methods, rationale, budget, and feasibility.
- Applicants may need to respond to Scientific Advisory Board questions or recommendations before final review.
- The Scientific Panel compiles recommendations, and final approval is required by the FAST Board of Directors before funding occurs.
- FAST aims to provide a funding response within six weeks of receiving the grant submission; progress reports are expected every 6 months, end-of-project reports are due within 8 weeks of the end of the grant period, and grant renewals, no-cost extensions, and carry-forward requests must be submitted at least 30 days before the relevant deadline.
