Who is eligible?

  • Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
  • Part-time and full-time students.
  • Odyssey participants from the last two years.

How to apply

  • Step 1: Create or log in to your profile
    • Access the Official Languages Programs portal.
    • Create an account or sign in to an existing profile.
  • Step 2: Choose your preferred sessions
    • Select your top three Explore sessions before starting the application.
    • Use the session comparison tool if needed.
  • Step 3: Complete the online form
    • Fill out the application form in the portal.
    • Save the application to your account.
  • Step 4: Upload supporting documents
    • Print the declaration form.
    • Have it signed by an authorized person at your school.
    • Upload the signed declaration form and required ID documents.
  • Step 5: Follow application updates
    • Check your profile and email for updates.
    • Respond to any offer or wait-pool instructions if selected.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications submitted by the deadline are entered into a randomized pan-Canadian draw.
  • Unselected eligible applications may be placed in a wait pool.
  • Applicants are notified by email if selected.
  • Eligibility decisions are made by provincial or territorial education authorities, subject to participating institutions’ policies.

Additional information

  • Sessions are available in both in-person and virtual formats, depending on participant availability and preference.
  • The length of sessions varies by age group: 31–33 days for participants 16 and older, three weeks for ages 13–15.
  • Odyssey program participants from the last two years are still eligible to participate in Explore.
