Who is eligible?
- Universities and colleges (registered not-for-profit)
- Research institutes (registered not-for-profit)
- Hospitals (registered not-for-profit)

- Patient advocacy groups and charities
Who is not eligible
- Individuals, independent programs, student groups and university departments must apply through one of the eligible organizations listed above.
Eligible expenses
- Honoraria and gifts for speakers
- Printing and advertising
- Venue and AV costs, including single-use platform costs such as Whova or upgrades to accommodate higher virtual audience attendance
- Prizes and other event-related supplies
- Event speaker meals, travel, accommodations and event catering
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Staffing/hiring costs
- Teaching/clinician release time
- Equipment
- Subscription costs for service platforms used on an ongoing basis by the applicant, such as fundraising platforms
- Alcoholic beverages; meals provided at meetings or as part of airline or railway travel; additional room charges, including cancellation fees, recreational expenses, partner accompanied travelers; and overnight accommodation within 24 km of the claimant’s home

Selection criteria
- Events that embody OBI’s principles of integration and collaboration, particularly across brain health or brain disorder topics, organizations, and stakeholder groups.
Processing and Agreement
- The Follow-Up Report must be returned to OBI within 30 days of the last day of the Event.
- Payments for approved events will be made in a single tranche once the Follow-Up Report is submitted.
- OBI reserves the right to withhold any previously agreed-upon payments if this condition is not met.
Additional information
- Events organized are encouraged to have a hybrid model or provide a virtual participation option in addition to an in-person option.
