Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- Stratas, complex owners, or individual residents
Eligible expenses
- Purchasing the charging station
- Labour and construction costs for installation of the charging station and associated conduit
- Site assessments including analysis of electrical capacity, review of panel capacity and infrastructure, and identification of design options
- Electrical and related permits
- Parking and electrical design required by the charging stations and conduit

How to apply
- Apply for pre-approval before purchasing and installing EV chargers.
- After pre-approval, complete the project and submit the final application within six or nine months, depending on rebate type.
- Submit the application reference number, charger invoice, installation invoice, picture of installed stations, proof of charger internet connectivity, and the completed contractor form.
Processing and Agreement
- BC Hydro reviews the final documents and processes the rebate payment within 90 days if everything meets the requirements.
Additional information
- Funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis while it lasts.
- Applications must be submitted through the administrator portal for your utility provider.
- Approved rebates are issued as a bill credit for FortisBC customers or as a cheque for some municipal utility customers.
- Selected applicants may be asked to take part in a site visit or follow-up survey.
