Transnational Eureka Lightweighting Call - 2026

Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Organisations participating in a Network projects consortium
  • Consortia must include at least two independent legal entities from a minimum of two Eureka participating countries
  • Organisations from non-participating countries may join if public or self-funding is secured by the call deadline

Who is not eligible

  • Walloon partners without an operating establishment in Wallonia
  • Walloon companies in difficulty or without a healthy financial situation
  • Projects that have already received public funding
  • In Türkiye, higher education institutions, public research centers and institutes, education and research hospitals, and research infrastructures covered by Law No. 6550 cannot apply independently
  • Large companies with more than 2,000 full-time equivalent employees are not eligible for public funding in France

Eligible expenses

  • Personnel costs, including researchers, technicians, administrators, and managers
  • Operating costs and general overhead costs
  • Equipment, materials, software, and consumables used for the project
  • Subcontracting, consultancy, and other services
  • Travel costs

Selection criteria

  • Impact: market size, access and risks, value creation, competitive advantages, and commercialisation plans
  • Excellence: degree of innovation, technological maturity and risk, use of new knowledge, and technical achievability
  • Quality and efficiency of implementation: consortium quality, added value through international cooperation, project management, and cost structure
  • Overall perception: experts list positive and negative points and recommend whether the project should receive public funding

How to apply

  • Contact your national funding body to discuss your project idea, financial viability, eligibility, and national procedures.
  • Create an account on the application portal and select the funding opportunity you want to apply to.
  • Complete one application form per consortium in English and invite the other consortium partners to fill in a partner form.
  • Upload the GANTT chart, the signed and completed co-signature form, and any additional required annexes.
  • Your application will be checked for completeness and eligibility before being reviewed using a standard evaluation procedure, and a successful project will receive a Eureka label.
  • Your national funding body may carry out a further evaluation according to national rules before allocating funds, and the final step is to complete and sign a consortium agreement.
