Who is eligible?
- Canadian SMEs.
- Organizations from other Eureka member countries.
Who is not eligible
- Individuals or organizations currently affiliated with a named research organization cannot participate in a project directly funded by the NRC.
- Organizations engaged by a project partner under a paid services, consulting or subcontracting contract cannot be considered project partners.

Selection criteria
- Priority may be given to SMEs with at least 15 full-time equivalent employees in Canada.
- Priority may be given to SMEs that have commercialized one or more products internationally.
- Priority may be given to SMEs whose annual revenue exceeds 500 000 CAD.
How to apply
- Each Canadian applicant SME must register online using the “Register” button.
- The Canadian applicant SME must then submit an expression of interest form with basic information about itself and the collaboration project.
- If invited to proceed, the Canadian lead applicant SME must work with its partners to prepare and submit an International Consortium Project Proposal.
- Eligible partners must then prepare their funding proposal with their respective national funding agency and, where applicable, conclude a funding agreement.
Processing and Agreement
- Expressions of interest are assessed upon receipt by an NRC IRAP evaluation team.
- Canadian PPCI applications are assessed by an NRC team composed of the applicant representative, the NRC National Programs Office and the PARI CNRC International Office.
- The combined evaluation results are sent to the national funding agencies for the joint selection of collaboration projects.
- Only participants in the selected proposals are invited to move to the final stage with their national funding agency.
- If the proposal is approved, the partners prepare their funding proposals, complete due diligence and sign legally binding funding agreements.
