Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Incorporated, profit-oriented small or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Canada.
  • Organizations that wish to form project consortia for collaborative projects in the high-tech and circular economy sectors.
  • Canadian SME participants that are registered NRC IRAP clients.

Who is not eligible

  • Universities, research institutes, and participants from other countries are non-eligible project participants for funding through this call.

Selection criteria

  • Preference may be given to SME applicants with a minimum of 15 full-time equivalent employees.
  • Preference may be given to SME applicants who have commercialized one or more products domestically or internationally.
  • Preference may be given to SME applicants with greater than $500,000 CAD in annual revenue.

How to apply

  • Each project consortium must complete and submit a Eureka project online application form.
  • Canadian applicants must register by clicking the Register button at the end of the page.
  • Canadian applicants must submit an expression of interest (EOI) form.
  • Project partners must work together to complete and submit the international consortium project proposal (ICPP) application package.
  • Eligible project partners must complete funding proposals and sign legally binding funding agreements with their respective national funding body.

Processing and Agreement

  • Each project partner seeking funding must submit all required documents to, and meet the due diligence process of, its respective national funding body.
  • NRC IRAP will review registrations and contact applicants if more information is required.
  • Qualifying applicants will be invited to submit an expression of interest form.
  • EOIs and Canadian ICPP applications will be evaluated, and the amalgamated results will be shared between national funding bodies to jointly select collaborative projects.
  • Eligible project partners will complete funding proposals and sign legally binding funding agreements with their respective national funding body.
