Equitable Excellence Scholarship updates
The Equitable Excellence Scholarship® Program now shows Applications Currently Closed, and it says information for the 2027 program is tentative and subject to change. A Remind Me link was also added so applicants can be notified when the application becomes available. The related college-resources page was expanded with new college-planning sections, a FAFSA Playbook inquiry form, and updated outbound links, including a more specific link to the Equitable Excellence Scholarship page. The page also now directs students, parents, educators, counselors, and school districts to additional college-access resources.

The Equitable Excellence Scholarship® Program supports high school seniors in the 50 U.S. states, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico who plan full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the United States. It provides $5,000 annual scholarships, renewable each academic year for four years, to help students pursue higher education.

Who is eligible?
- High school seniors with financial need.
- Students residing in one of the 50 U.S. states, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico.
- Students planning to enroll full-time in an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.
Who is not eligible
- Employees, associates, financial professionals, or immediate family members of employees, associates, or financial professionals of Equitable, Equitable Advisors and all Equitable affiliated companies or Scholarship America, or their affiliates, subsidiaries, or advertising and promotion agencies.

Selection criteria
- Financial need.
- Leadership and participation in school and community activities, awards, and honors.
- Work experience.
- Unusual personal or family circumstances.
- Personal statement demonstrating ambition and self-drive to give back to the community by encouraging other students to pursue post-secondary attainment.
Processing and Agreement
- Eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
- Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America.
- In no instance does any officer or employee of Equitable Foundation play a part in the selection.
- Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Equitable Foundation, and payment is made in August.
- All applicants will be notified in early spring, and all applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

To be eligible for the Equitable Excellence Scholarship® program, you must:
Current high school seniors with financial need.
Residents of one of the 50 U.S. states, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico who plan full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the United States.
Have a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale, demonstrate ambition and self-drive to give back to their communities, and agree to a publicity release.
