Overview
This program provides up to $12.5 million to support projects that increase environmental literacy among young Canadians. Funding supports initiatives that develop environmental knowledge, tools and/or skills for children, youth, and their families or educators.
Activities funded
- Projects that increase environmental literacy for children (ages 0–5).
- Projects that advance environmental literacy for youth (K–12; Maternelle to CEGEP in Quebec).
- Initiatives that develop environmental knowledge, tools and/or skills for young Canadians.
- Projects that strengthen environmental literacy through activities aimed at families and/or educators.
- Indigenous-led initiatives that enhance environmental literacy and build capacity related to climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution.

Eligibility
- The applicant must be a not-for-profit organization.
- The project must advance environmental literacy for children (ages 0–5) and/or youth (K–12 students; Maternelle to CEGEP in Quebec).
- The project may also target families and/or educators as part of improving environmental literacy for young Canadians.
- The project must develop knowledge, tools and/or skills related to environmental literacy.
