Overview
The Energy Innovation Program — Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage RD&D provided up to $50 million to support research, development, and demonstration activities advancing commercial CCUS technologies in Canada. The program targeted projects in capture, storage and transportation, and utilization of CO2 to reduce emissions where electrification or low-carbon fuels are not feasible.

- Developing and improving methods for the safe, permanent storage and transportation of captured CO2 across Canada.
- Researching and demonstrating new ways to convert and utilize CO2 into commercially viable products for long-term or permanent sequestration.
Eligibility
- The applicant may be a business, academic institution, non-profit organization, or government or federal laboratory.
- The project must focus on research, development, or demonstration activities related to carbon capture, utilization, or storage (CCUS) technologies.
- The project must contribute to advancing commercial viability of CCUS and support progress toward net-zero emissions by 2050.

- Step 3: Submit Application
- Follow the intake process outlined for your chosen focus area and submit your proposal as directed by NRCan's guidelines.
