Enabling Accessibility Fund — General Funding

• Canada Revenue Agency document showing a valid business number that is no more than 2 years old, if you are not already a registered Grants and Contributions Online Services user
• An external quote for each non-flat rate project activity
• The completed EAF small projects calculator summary entitled Total estimated eligible costs of your project
• Digital picture(s) of the project space to be improved or digital images/screenshots of the accessible item(s), device(s), homepage, or other applicable pages, as applicable

Who is eligible?

• Not-for-profit organizations
• For-profit organizations with up to 99 employees
• Municipal governments under 100,000 people
• Indigenous organizations
• Territorial governments

Who is not eligible

• Federal and provincial governments
• Municipal governments with 100,000 or more residents
• Public schools, hospitals, and public health institutions
• Crown corporations or government-controlled entities
• Residential housing organizations such as condo or co-op boards

Eligible expenses

• Construction, renovation, and retrofit costs for accessibility features
• Accessible equipment and devices
• Information and communication technology
• Professional fees directly tied to the accessibility work
• Taxes not rebated

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• General construction costs such as new walls, roofs, ceilings, windows, or rough-in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC
• Contingency funds
• Training, routine maintenance, and general operating costs
• Personal-use or profit-generating activities
• Computers, laptops, tablets, and non-accessibility-specific equipment

• Project relevance and alignment with program objectives
• Clarity of barriers addressed and expected results
• Feasibility and project readiness
• Organization capacity to manage the project
• Geographic distribution and funding priorities

• Gather your supporting documents before starting the application.
• In the Budget section of GCOS, click the link to access the online calculator.
• Complete the calculator and save the Total Eligible Costs of Your Project document.
• Return to GCOS, upload the required supporting documents, and submit the application by the closing date.

• The Department will not contact applicants to provide missing information; funding decisions will be based on the information provided in the application and supporting documents.
• If required information is not received at the time of application, the project will be screened out.
• The Department will notify applicants in writing of the outcome of the review.
• If multiple applications are submitted under the same CRA Business number, only the first application received will be considered for funding.

• No leveraging is required for 2026 projects.
• Applications are assessed in stages after submission.
• Successful applicants must report on project results.
• Funding decisions are final and there is no appeal process.
