Overview
The Emissions Reduction Advancement Program (ERAP) is an industry-funded, federally managed initiative that enables fuel suppliers to fulfill up to 10% of their annual reduction obligations under the Clean Fuel Regulations by supporting projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Canada. Eligible activities include funding projects that achieve measurable emissions reductions, with the total contribution amount determined by participating fuel suppliers.
Financing terms and conditions
- Fuel suppliers can satisfy up to 10% of their annual reduction requirement under the Clean Fuel Regulations through contributions to the ERAP.

Additional information
- The total value of contributions received by the program from fuel suppliers will be known after November 30, 2024.
- Contributions made in 2024 or 2025 are designated for projects achieving emissions reductions by 2030.
- Contributions made after 2025 must fund projects achieving emissions reductions within five years.
- Further information on applying for emission-reduction project funding will be released in the future.
