Overview
Provides one-time financial relief (maximum funding amount not available) for community sport and recreation organizations impacted by COVID-19. Support is intended to help organizations sustain their sport and recreation programming and continue operations.
Activities funded
- Activities to sustain community sport and recreation programming impacted by COVID-19.
Examples of admissible projects:
Creating an outdoor fitness park to promote community health and activity
Enhancing youth sports participation through equipment and facility upgrades
Eligibility
- The applicant is a community-level sport or recreation organization, club, team, league, or association.
- The applicant has sustained losses due to COVID-19.
- The applicant can demonstrate financial need and a plan to sustain programming using the funding.
- If affiliated with a Ministry-recognized PSO/MSO, the applicant can demonstrate substantial losses in gate receipts and sponsorship due to the pandemic.
Who is eligible?
- Sport and recreation clubs and organizations not affiliated with a Ministry-recognized PSO/MSO.
- Sport and recreation leagues and teams affiliated with a Ministry-recognized PSO/MSO that can demonstrate substantial gate receipt and sponsorship losses due to COVID-19.
- Member clubs of Ministry-recognized PSO/MSOs that are not funded through the Ontario Amateur Sport Fund.

- Strategy to use the funding to sustain programming.
Processing and Agreement
- Applicants were to be notified of outcomes by June 14, 2022 (best efforts).
- Successful applicants were to receive funding by June 24, 2022.
