How to apply

Check eligibility
- Confirm that the project involves more than one participant
- Make sure participants are aged 5 to 25, excluding group leaders or mentors
- Verify that the project will take place within Alberta
- Ensure the project can be completed by June 1, 2026

Prepare application
- Review the applicant guide before submitting
- Use the application form to provide the required project information
- Include eligibility confirmation, applicant information, project details, planning, budget, and final steps

Build project budget
- Fill out the budget template and attach it to the application
- List the items to be purchased and their estimated costs
- Explain how additional funds will be sourced if the project budget exceeds $1,000
- Make sure the plan is clear and reasonable

Submit application
- Submit the completed application online
- Do so before the May 4, 2026 deadline
- Submit early if funding is needed by a specific date, since applications are reviewed monthly

- Wait for the monthly review and funding decision
- Applicants are notified shortly after the first Monday of each month
- If approved, funds are typically released within 5 to 10 business days after the approval email
