Eligibility
- The applicant must be a black woman or Afro-descendant aged between 18 and 35.

Who is eligible?
The Élan Madeleine Féquière Scholarship is open specifically to young Black women aged 30 or under who possess significant development potential in artistic disciplines or cultural entrepreneurship. To be eligible, applicants must be Black women or Afro-descendants aged between 18 and 35, identify as artists or cultural entrepreneurs, and be Canadian citizens or permanent residents living in Montreal. They must also present original works and submit a project with a minimum cost of $2,000 CAD, committing to a fundraising campaign of $1,000 CAD via the LaHive crowdfunding platform.

Selection criteria
- Creativity/originality and artistic merit (40%): The presentation and content of the art form are out of the ordinary and have an impact.
- Project feasibility (30%): The artist has performed or exhibited in a public sphere (online or face-to-face) at least twice in the last 36 months and has a defined history of achievements.
- Clarity of project proposal (20%): The planned activity is distinct and convincing, and the supporting material demonstrates high artistic quality. The proposal is clearly linked to the project and demonstrates the artistic skills required to complete the project.
- Community involvement (10%): The candidate has clear, achievable goals and plans to make an impact on themselves, other artists, black communities, audiences, and participants. The candidate has developed a notable presence on social networks or has a fan base.
