Who is eligible?

• Owners of an eligible home, including natural persons, businesses registered with the Registraire des entreprises du Québec, non-profit organizations, condominium associations, associations, groups of individuals, cooperatives, trusts, municipalities, and band councils, Indigenous communities or Indigenous nations recognized by the National Assembly.
• Énergir business customers in the commercial, institutional, or multi-unit residential sector (20 units or more).

Who is not eligible

• Customers who are not Énergir customers.
• Customers who use an electric heating system.
• Independent producers are not eligible for Hydro-Québec’s Small- and Medium-Power Dual-Energy Rate for Space Heating.
• Customers served by an off-grid system are not eligible for the rate.

Eligible expenses

• Costs of purchasing, installing and commissioning eligible new mechanical and electrical systems.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• Tool rental, maintenance costs and energy costs.
• Expenses incurred to prepare the financial assistance application.
• Expenses that are not necessary or justifiable for the eligible work.
• Extended warranty costs and taxes (GST and QST).

• Énergir will connect you with specialized partners.
• Your contractor or certified partner will guide you through the process, from submitting your project to commissioning the system and applying for grants.
• For large-scale projects that require special support, your engineer or consulting engineering firm will take charge of your project.
• To sign up for the Small- and Medium-Power Dual-Energy Rate for Space Heating, submit a written application to Hydro-Québec by completing the Certificate of Eligibility – Dual Energy form available at www.hydroquebec.com.

• To sign up for the Small- and Medium-Power Dual-Energy Rate for Space Heating, the customer must submit a written application to Hydro-Québec by completing the Certificate of Eligibility – Dual Energy form available at www.hydroquebec.com.
• Failure to provide all the required information could result in the customer being denied access to the rate.
• The customer must notify Hydro-Québec of any change made to the dual-energy system during the term of the contract that would render it ineligible for the rate.
• If the dual-energy system no longer meets one of the conditions of application, the contract becomes subject to the appropriate general rate.
• Unless the customer corrects the situation within 10 business days, the new rate takes effect at the beginning of the consumption period during which the non-compliance was reported or noted.

• Conditions for participation have been in effect since April 1, 2026 and were updated on June 18, 2026.
• Énergir reserves the right to modify or terminate the program at any time without notice.
• Participants must comply with the program’s terms and conditions, use the system in accordance with the requirements, provide the information required for reporting purposes, and comply with the visibility requirements of the 2030 Plan for a Green Economy.
