Eligibility
- The applicant must be a registered Canadian charity with a Revenue Canada BN/charitable registration number.
- The organization must provide a history and documentation of past activities (Annual Reports and financial statements).
- The proposed project must focus on the protection of natural areas of ecological importance or advance sustainable environmental practices in Eastern Canada (Ontario, Quebec, or the Atlantic provinces).

- Organizations seeking funding for political activities.

Selection criteria
- Merit of the project presented, particularly for the concrete environmental initiatives.
How to apply

Prepare letter of inquiry
- Prepare a letter of inquiry addressed to the Echo Foundation
- Include the charitable organization’s history
- Provide the Revenue Canada BN/charitable registration number
- Add the complete mailing address

Gather required documents
- Attach the three most recent Annual Reports and financial statements
- Summarize the proposed project
- Provide a detailed project budget

Detail project and funding information
- Specify the amount of the grant requested
- List confirmed and potential funders and their contributions
- Include the name and direct telephone number of the project lead
- List similar projects

Verify compliance with requirements
- Ensure all correspondence includes sender’s complete contact information: name, position, mailing address, direct telephone number
- Verify that the application does not request funding for political activities

Submit application to Echo Foundation
- Submit the complete application with all supporting documents to the Echo Foundation by mail or email
