Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a registered Canadian charity with a Revenue Canada BN/charitable registration number.
  • The organization must provide a history and documentation of past activities (Annual Reports and financial statements).
  • The proposed project must focus on the protection of natural areas of ecological importance or advance sustainable environmental practices in Eastern Canada (Ontario, Quebec, or the Atlantic provinces).

How to apply

Prepare letter of inquiry

  • Prepare a letter of inquiry addressed to the Echo Foundation
  • Include the charitable organization’s history
  • Provide the Revenue Canada BN/charitable registration number
  • Add the complete mailing address

Gather required documents

  • Attach the three most recent Annual Reports and financial statements
  • Summarize the proposed project
  • Provide a detailed project budget

Detail project and funding information

  • Specify the amount of the grant requested
  • List confirmed and potential funders and their contributions
  • Include the name and direct telephone number of the project lead
  • List similar projects

Verify compliance with requirements
