- Architectural or design fees for eligible works

- Replacing original wooden architectural components with other materials
- Backlit or neon signs
- Removing or altering heritage features or architecturally significant elements
- Use of synthetic components where they are not already in use

- Applications are reviewed by staff and the CIP Implementation Advisory Panel
- Eligibility requirements and program terms are used in the review
- Applications of $5,000 or less may be approved under delegated authority
How to apply
- Step 1: Pre-application meeting
- Meet with staff to confirm eligibility, scope of work, and timing.
- Step 2: Complete application
- Fill out the official form and include all required documents.
- Step 3: Submit for review
- Staff and the CIP Implementation Advisory Panel review the application and may request more information.
- Step 4: Approval and agreement
- If approved, sign the grant agreement and wait for the executed copy to be returned.
- Step 5: Complete works and payment
- Finish the approved work, then submit paid invoices and “after” photos for final review and cheque issuance.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed by staff and the CIP Implementation Advisory Panel
- Staff or the Panel may request clarification or additional documents
- Staff may conduct an initial site visit and property inspection
- Approved applicants sign a grant agreement before work starts
- After completion, staff may inspect the site and review invoices and photos before payment is issued
Additional information
- Multiple-property owners are limited to two projects per year.
- Unallocated funds after September 30 may be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Construction must be completed within one calendar year of approval.
