Overview

Funding varies, and requests should not exceed 10% of a program’s overall budget. It supports Canadian charitable initiatives focused on children, education, and health and human services through local warehouse donations or electronic applications

Selection criteria

How to apply

Step 1: Choose giving option
  • Select Warehouse Donations for local organizations/causes.
  • Select Grant Applications for larger, broad-based organizations/causes.
Step 2: Prepare request
  • Ensure the request is monetary only.
  • Plan submission at least three months before a time-sensitive program or event.
  • Submit no more than one request per fiscal year (September to August).
Step 3: Submit request
  • Warehouse Donations: submit to the Costco location nearest you.
  • Grant Applications: submit the application form electronically.

Processing and Agreement

  • Warehouse donation requests are reviewed by the local Costco warehouse (process varies by location).
  • Electronic grant applications are reviewed within 6–10 weeks.
  • Only selected organizations are contacted by Costco.
  • If selected, a cheque and letter are sent within 8–10 weeks from submission.

Additional information

  • Costco accepts and reviews requests on a rolling basis throughout the year.
  • Organizations may submit one request per fiscal year (September to August).
  • For time-sensitive events/programs, apply at least three months in advance.
  • Costco will only contact selected organizations.
