  • Apartment buildings
  • Government-owned buildings
  • Properties outside the eligible area
  • Empty or non-operating businesses, except those renovating in anticipation of reopening

Eligible expenses

  • Direct project labour, contractor fees, and facade-related design or engineering fees
  • Rental of tools and equipment, project materials and supplies, and shipping or freight
  • Provincial sales tax (PST)

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Routine maintenance, structural repairs, roofs, paving, landscaping, fencing, and interior work
  • Improvements not visible from the public right-of-way or started before approval
  • Staff wages, benefits, GST, duties, permit fees, and utility costs
  • Non-permanent fixtures, additions, accessory buildings, and new buildings

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed by a three-member Project Review Committee.
  • Eligible projects are approved on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Reimbursement is issued after completion, inspection proof, and expense verification are submitted.
