Overview
The Digital Strategy Fund Special Initiative for Core Grant Recipients provides up to $50,000 to support organizations in assessing their digital readiness and developing a comprehensive digital strategic plan. Eligible activities include hiring consultants or experts to conduct digital maturity assessments, digital needs assessments, and the creation of a digital strategy.
Financing terms and conditions
- Maximum grant amount of up to $50,000 per project.
Activities funded
- Engaging consultants or experts to evaluate your organization's current digital readiness through a digital maturity assessment.
- Identifying digital needs and opportunities by conducting a digital needs assessment.
- Developing a digital strategic plan to guide your organization's digital transformation and future initiatives.

Eligibility
- The applicant organization must be a current recipient of a core grant awarded in 2017-18 from one of the eligible components (Artist-Driven Organizations, Artistic Catalysts, Artistic Institutions, Indigenous Organizations, Support Organizations, National Arts Service Organizations, Literary Publishers, Arts Festivals and Presenters).
- The organization must not have been issued a Major Warning in their most recent core result.
- Projects must focus on assessing digital readiness, identifying digital gaps, or developing a digital strategic plan through the hiring of consultants or experts.

Eligible expenses
- Fees for hiring Canadian or international consultants and/or experts to conduct a digital maturity assessment.
- Fees for consultants and/or experts to complete a digital needs assessment.
- Fees for consultants and/or experts to develop a digital strategic plan.
Eligible geographic areas
- Organizations receiving a base grant from the Canada Council for the Arts (Canadian national level)

- Ensure your organization has not received a Major Warning in the most recent core result

Prepare application documents

- Complete the application form as required
- Fill in the budget and ensure accuracy in all sections

Prepare submission package
- Attach the completed application form and budget as a single document

- Wait for the notification of results from the funding agency

Additional information
- This special initiative is a one-time opportunity and is now closed for applications.
- Applicants are not required to identify a specific consultant or expert at the time of application.
- Toolkit resources, including assessment tools and a service provider guide, are available to support applicants through the process.
- If previously applied to the Digital Strategy Fund for other activities, organizations may still apply to this initiative, but overlapping expenses are not eligible.
