  • Organizations that are not post-secondary institutions, government entities, or for-profit SMEs as defined by the program.
  • Companies with over 500 full-time employees or annual gross revenue above $50,000,000.
  • Applicants not in good financial standing with Alberta Innovates or its subsidiaries (e.g., those with past bad debt).

Eligible expenses

  • Reasonable project costs incurred after the signing of the Investment Agreement.

  • Funding is provided on a milestone completion basis, requiring submission of Progress or Final Reports before successive payments are released.
