Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Canadian non-profit organizations, duly registered
  • Associations, institutions, or Canadian foundations
  • Canadian for-profit organizations, solely for non-profit activities
  • Government entities, only when they are the only organization able to manage a school community center

  • Individuals
  • Government organizations, except government organizations that are the only organization able to manage a school community center
  • Universities
  • Schools and school boards
  • Foreign institutions and organizations

Eligible expenses

  • Expenses related to your programming or project, in cash and in-kind value
  • Costs to set up, deliver and monitor programs, services, activities and projects
  • Costs related to studies or analyses carried out to develop programs, services or activities essential to the development of official-language minority communities
  • Administrative costs, including auditing and evaluation costs and other administrative overhead related to the funded activities

Selection criteria

  • Consistency with the objectives of the Cooperation with the Community Sector subcomponent and relevance of the issues to community vitality
  • Relevance of the proposed activities to the situation described
  • Links with the community’s development priorities or the area of intervention, if any
  • Diversified funding sources and a variety of quality partners
  • Expected outcomes, relevant performance measurements, budget proportionality, and contribution to increasing inclusiveness of official-language minority communities, if applicable

How to apply

  • Review the Application Guidelines in their entirety before completing your application.
  • Complete and sign the Application form – Official Languages Support Programs, select the Cooperation with the Community Sector subcomponent, affix the date, and attach all required supporting documents.
  • Submit your complete funding application package by email to dglo-olsp@pch.gc.ca for national-level applications, or consult the regional offices to submit regional applications by email.
  • For regional project funding applications in Atlantic, Ontario, Quebec and Western regions, contact your regional office to request a Letter of Intent form.
  • Complete and submit the Letter of Intent form by email and include the name of your organization and the name of the project in the subject line.
  • If your project proposal is retained, complete and sign the application form and attach the required supporting documents for Step 2.

Processing and Agreement

  • We will acknowledge receipt of your Letter of Intent form within 10 business days after reception.
  • We will contact you within 20 business days of receipt of your Letter of Intent form to inform you of the results of the first-step evaluation.
  • We will acknowledge receipt of your application within two weeks of receiving it in our office.
  • Only organizations whose project proposals are retained will be invited to present a complete funding application.
  • At the end of your project, you may be required to submit a report and/or participate in the evaluation of results; at the end of a contribution, you must submit a final report.

  • Applications may be submitted for programming or project funding.
  • Project funding may follow a two-step process.
  • Applicants can request funding for projects longer than 12 months.
  • Funding may be provided as a grant or a contribution.
