How to apply
- Step 1: Review program guidelines and timelines
- Consult the DAIA 2 program guidelines to understand the objectives, parameters, and evaluation process.
- Note the key dates for the competition, including the LOI deadline (September 25, 2025, by 2:00 pm Pacific Time), full proposal deadline (November 20, 2025, by 2:00 pm Pacific Time), and the anticipated notification of results (early March 2026).
- Refer to the Proposal Central FAQ and any additional resources (e.g., Data Literacy Webinar on HDPBC) as needed.
- Step 2: Prepare and submit the Letter of Intent (LOI)
- Develop a brief outline of the proposed project, ensuring it addresses the DAIA 2 program’s eligibility criteria.
- Prepare a concise description that highlights the project scope and how it fits the DAIA 2 objectives.
- Access Genome BC’s Proposal Central system.
- Complete and submit the LOI to Genome BC through Proposal Central by the specified LOI deadline to be considered.
- Await Genome BC’s review of the LOI for eligibility and reviewer assignment.
- Step 3: Receive LOI decision and invitation to submit proposal
- Receive notification from Genome BC regarding the LOI decision and whether you are invited to submit a full proposal (expected October 16, 2025).
- Proceed to the full proposal stage only if invited.
- Step 4: Prepare the full proposal and budget
- Develop a detailed description of the clinical and other data requested through the Health Data Platform BC (HDPBC).
- Describe the planned project, including research methods, activities, objectives, and milestones.
- Prepare a comprehensive project budget, including data access fees, respecting the maximum allowable project budget.
- Ensure the proposal addresses the evaluation criteria outlined in Appendix 1 of the DAIA 2 Guidelines.
