Eligibility

Eligible expenses

  • Operational costs associated with a special project
  • Temporary project staff contracted to support the specific project

Selection criteria

  • Applicants will be scored on a scale from 1 to 5 in the following categories: Organization Capacity (15%), Proposed Project Scope (20%), Program or Service Plan (20%), Budget (25%), and Linkages to City of Kawartha Lakes strategic plans (20%).

How to apply

  • Application forms and intake timelines are available on the City of Kawartha Lakes website.
  • Applications must be submitted on or before the application deadline.
  • Provide the required documentation, including previous year audited or approved financial statements and the current year organization budget.

Processing and Agreement

  • The approved funds will be provided to approved project recipients on funding approval and execution of funding documentation.
  • At the conclusion of the project, the Final Report must be submitted with necessary receipts to show proof of payment of eligible expenses.
  • Any claimed ineligible expenses or unused grant funds will be reconciled at the conclusion of the project through the Final Report and these funds are required to be returned to the City of Kawartha Lakes.
  • Grant recipients are required acknowledge their funding through recognition activities directly relating to the project.

  • Organizations are limited to one funding request per calendar year.
  • Applications must be submitted on or before the application deadline; late applications will not be considered.
  • The application timeline includes an interim report due September 15, 2026 and a final report due January 30, 2027.
