Who is eligible?

• Full-time students in landscape or horticultural programs
• Students in approved horticulture-related programs
• Eligible apprentices in specific scholarship streams

Who is not eligible

• Applicants who are not Ontario residents
• Students outside full-time landscape or horticultural programs
• Nominees not submitted through the required coordinator or sponsor route

Eligible geographic areas

• Ontario

• Integrity, honesty, perseverance, and initiative.
• Leadership qualities.
• Contribution to fellow students, teachers, community, and the industry.
• For some scholarships, academic transcripts and reference letters are considered.

• Step 1: Review eligibility
  • Confirm that the nominee meets the scholarship requirements.
  • Check the relevant scholarship instructions before starting.
• Step 2: Prepare the nomination
  • Collect the candidate’s contact information.
  • Prepare responses to the required profile questions.
  • Include transcripts or reference letters if requested.
• Step 3: Submit the nomination
  • Complete the nomination form online.
  • Or mail the completed form to Ontario Horticultural Trades Foundation in Milton, Ontario.
  • You may also email an electronic copy to the program contact.

• Nominations are reviewed after submission.
• Candidates are selected by peers and teachers, with the coordinator leading the election process.
• The winning candidate profile is submitted to Mark Cullen and the Ontario Horticultural Trades Foundation.
• A need-based nomination may be completed for a student facing financial challenges.

• Scholarships are awarded through nomination.
• Some awards require transcripts or reference letters.
• A nominee profile must be submitted with the application.
• Application can be submitted by mail or email.
